From Lockers to Laughter: My Weekend at the Artazan Art Fair
So far this weekend has been pure magic. ✨
I had the absolute joy of exhibiting at the Artazan Art Fair at the Pasadena Convention Center today — and wow, what an experience! This was my first big in-person event for PictureThisPasadena/LockerWallpaper.com, and seeing people’s faces light up when they realized my designs were magnetic (and handmade!) made every hour of prep totally worth it. I can't wait to go back for day two of the event tomorrow.
The Setup
I brought my three-tier locker tower, a few table displays, and tons of my favorite pieces — from magnetic wallpaper and shelves to mystery bags, magnets, stickers, and 3D-printed office accessories. Each item was designed to bring a little fun and personality into everyday spaces — lockers, offices, and homes alike.
The Giveaway Magic
I decided to skip the original spin-the-wheel idea I had, but I still wanted every visitor to walk away with something special. So, I gifted each person who stopped by either a magnet or sticker, and I donated several items to the Artazan raffle as well. It was my way of saying “thank you” for supporting local artists and small businesses.
Fan Favorites
The surprise hit of the weekend? My new holographic vinyl stickers! 🌈 They practically glowed under the fairy lights and were easily my best-seller. I loved hearing everyone’s stories — parents and grandparents reminiscing about their kids’ or grandkids’ lockers, students picking out their favorite designs, and so many people genuinely curious about my creative process and portfolio.
More Than Sales
Yes, I sold more than anticipated — but honestly, that wasn’t the best part. The best part was the conversations. People connected not just with my products, but with my story. I had so many wonderful chats about creativity, design, and finding joy in everyday spaces. The encouragement and enthusiasm from everyone who stopped by reminded me why I started this journey in the first place.
