From Plain to Performance-Ready: A Dance Team Locker Makeover Case Study
There’s something special about competition season for dance teams. The rehearsals, the nerves, the excitement — and that moment when the team finally sees everything come together.
Recently, I had the opportunity to design a custom locker makeover for a Texas dance team, and the result was one of my favorite projects to date.
The Goal: A Cohesive, Competition-Ready Space
We wanted their locker area to feel:
- Polished and coordinated
- Fun and energizing for the dancers
- Easy to install (no DIY stress for coaches or parents)
With 42 lockers to design, the challenge was creating something that felt custom and special — without becoming overwhelming or complicated.
The Solution: Custom Locker Panels + Personalized Name Magnets
We created two custom locker door designs, installed as three panels per locker, giving the entire space a unified look that instantly elevated the room.
To add a personal touch, we also designed 21 personalized 3D locker name magnets, allowing each dancer to feel individually represented while still keeping the overall look cohesive.
Everything was designed to:
- Match the team’s aesthetic
- Install quickly
- Hold up through a busy competition season
No tools. No complicated instructions. Just peel, place, and reveal.
The Reveal Moment
Seeing the dancers walk into their transformed locker space was the best part. The lockers immediately felt like theirs — a space that reflected their teamwork, dedication, and pride.
The coach later shared photos of the finished lockers and even tagged my business on Instagram, which is always the highest compliment. It means the space didn’t just look good — it made an impact.
